With the protests from religious activists and political parties kept on growing, the OTT giant Netflix India had no option but to bow down to the pressure. Nayanthara’s popular Tamil film ‘Annapoorani’ has been pulled from the platform now. Zee Studios are the co-producers of the film and according to them, the film will be back on Netflix, once the portions which have allegedly hurt the religious sentiments of the Hindus have been edited out.

Annapoorani is the story of a Brahmin girl and a Muslim guy who got married. The Brahmin girl later cooks non-veg for her husband and even goes on to win Master Chef. Certain portions of the film might hurt the religious sentiments of the Hindus such as the film claims that Lord Rama, Seetha, and Lakshmana used to eat meat in their time of exile. There is another scene where Nayanthara, the Brahmin girl in the movie offers Namaz, before cooking meat.

Now, the film is taken down and those particular scenes will be edited out.
