The 17th season of the Indian Premier League is set to kickstart in Chennai. The launch is scheduled for March 22nd. IPL Chairman Arun Singh Dhumal has announced that the league will kickstart on the above said date. An inaugural ceremony will be planned on the opening day, confirmed CEO of Chennai Super Kings franchise, Kasi Viswanathan.
However, it has not been finalized whether it is not confirmed if the Super Kings will take on the other finalists of the previous season Gujarat Titans in the opening game. Dhumal confirmed that the partial schedule of IPL 2024 will be announced in the next couple of days. The full schedule will be confirmed after the Election Commission of India announces the general election dates.
The programme for the first 10-12 days will be announced soon. Meanwhile, the Election Commission is expected to announce the nationwide election dates between the second and third week of March. Based on this, the full schedule will be announced.
