Amazon Web Services on Tuesday launched the AWS Asia Pacific center in Hyderabad. It is the second infra in the region.

The statement from the company reads the new center will support 48K full-time jobs annually and a planned investment of over $4.4 billion in the nation by the end of 2030.

Minister for IT, Industries for Telangana tweeted, “Major announcement! Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS), an http://Amazon.com, Inc. company (NASDAQ: AMZN), today announced the launch of its second AWS infrastructure Region in India—the AWS Asia Pacific (Hyderabad) Region.”

KTR welcomed the AWS’s decision to invest in Telangana. He said in a statement, “We welcome AWS’s commitment to invest approximately INR 36,300 crores in the AWS Region in Hyderabad, which strengthens Telangana’s position as a progressive data center hub in India.”

Prasad Kalyanaraman, vice president of Infrastructure Services at Amazon Data Services Inc, stated that the investment comes in the wake of the company’s long-term investment in the country.
