Former Indian Cricketer Ambati Rayudu joined YSRCP on December 27th, 2023, and then left the party within 10 days. It is one of the shortest political stints one could have. There were speculations that Ambati Rayudu wanted to contest as an MP from the Guntur constituency but YS Jagan was not interested in that and due to those differences, Rayudu has decided to quit the party.

However, Ambati Rayudu tried to explain his political exit. He tweeted, “I Ambati Rayudu will be representing the Mumbai Indians in the upcoming ILt20 from Jan 20th in Dubai. Which requires me to be politically non-affiliated whilst playing professional sport.”

This might not be sold by the people as Ambati Rayudu knows this clause even before he joins YSRCP. Also, when joining the political party, Rayudu said that he intends to serve the people honestly. So, he should have known that both ways and this explanation might be a part of the damage control to his image.
