Director – Mahesh

Sudheer Babu disappointed everyone with his last movie Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali. The actor has next chosen a serious cop drama titled Hunt which is majorly based on realistic stunts. The promos of the movie are positive. Let us check out the review.

Story:

Arjun Prasad (Sudheer Babu), Assistant Commissioner Of Police, handles the murder case of his fellow ACP Aryan Dev (Bharat). However, in a freak accident, Arjun loses his memory. After rejoining, his superior Mohan (Srikanth) wants Arjun to continue with the case.

What are the shocking truths that come out in the investigation? Who is the Killer? Who made the accident to Arjun Prasad??

Performances:

Sudheer Babu plays a power-packed role and he justifies it to a large extent. His action stunts are to watch for sure. Overall, it is a good role for him personally. Srikanth is alright in the mentor kind of role. Bharat comes back to the Telugu Screen after a long time. He does justice and brings freshness to the setup.

Mounika Reddy is decent in a Police Officer role. Chitra Shukla looks good but doesn’t get the required character. Others are just fine.

Technicalities:

Hunt is a decent cop drama with a murder mystery entangled in it. Mahesh Surapaneni picks up an interesting plot but fizzes out at the execution part. The first half is decent and has tense moments. The interval block is nicely set up. However, things go drastically wrong in the second half.

The camera work is good but editing needs to be sharp as there are many lag scenes in the second half. Ghibran impresses with his background music.

Analysis:

As said, Hunt should be a decent cop mystery drama where things go bad in the second half. Sudheer Babu’s action and the realistic stunts are the only saving grace. Otherwise, it is a below-par entertainer which could be easily skipped.
