One of the most wanted terrorists in India, Jaish-e-Mohammed Chief Moulana Masood Azhar is reportedly dead in a car blast. He is the mastermind behind the Kandahar flight hijack incident and the internet is abuzz with the death reports. The incident is said to have happened near a mosque in Pakistan when Masood was returning from Bahawalpur Mosque, in Pakistan’s Punjab region.

A video of the blast claiming it was Moulana Masood who was traveling in the car is currently viral on social media. However, there is no official confirmation regarding the person dead in the car blast.

In 1994, Moulana Masood Azhar was arrested near Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir after he entered the Indian border on a fake identity. In 1999, a flight en route from Kathmandu to New Delhi was hijacked and taken to Kandahar in Afghanistan. In exchange for the hostages, the terrorists demanded freeing Masood along with two other terrorist leaders. The Indian government succumbed to the pressure and decided to release Moulana Masood Azhar. It is said that he is the mastermind behind the hijack.
