At least 8 dead and more than 20 people injured in a tragic train accident after 2 trains collided in Vizianagaram. Going into the details, a passenger train going to Rayagada in Odisha from Vishakapatnam in Andhra Pradesh derailed in Vizianagaram district on Sunday.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy immediately after knowing about the incident ordered to take immediate relief measures and send as many ambulances as possible from Vishakapatnam and Anakapalli, and to make all kinds of arrangements to nearby hospitals to provide good medical care.

Prime Minister’s Office posted, “PM@narendramodi spoke to Railway Minister Shri @AshwiniVaishnaw and took stock of the situation in the wake of the unfortunate train derailment between Alamanda and Kantakapalle section. Authorities are providing all possible assistance to those affected. The Prime Minister extends condolences to the bereaved families and prays that the injured recover soon.”
