The third ODI between India and New Zealand has been called off due to rain. Batting first, India struggled to get going. Both the openers haven’t got going. Both got the start but couldn’t build on that. Shreyas Iyer has shown composure but he fell one run short of a beautiful half-century. Once again Pant failed to score a big inning. Suryakumar Yadav’s owes continue in the ODIs and Deepak Hooda couldn’t bat long.

If not for Washington Sundar’s brilliant half-century, India would have been in a dismal state. However, Sundar scored 51 and took India’s score to 219 which was clearly below par.

New Zealand took light of India’s innings and scored 108 runs in just 18 overs losing just one wicket. However, the rain gods came down and took the match away. With the first ODI win, New Zealand claims a series win. Tom Latham was adjudged Player of the Series.
