Argentina beat Croatia 3-0 in the crucial semifinals to reach the finals of the Fifa World Cup 2022 which is currently happening in Qatar. Though it was the sixth time Argentina played a final, the last time the South American nation won a World Cup was way back in 1986.
The match started rather conservatively but the action spiced up in the 32nd minute after Argentina won a penalty kick. The legendary footballer Lionel Messi came forward coolly and sent the ball into the nets giving his nation a 1-0 lead. Álvarez became a star in the 39th minute, crossed three Croatian defenders, and gave Argentina a 2-0 lead. In the 69th minute, the duo Álvarez and Messi did magic again to give 3-0 up Argentina.
Croatia attacked the goalpost 12 times in the match but only two were on target. Also, their defense had loopholes as well. Argentina will wait for the winner of France and Morocco to play in the finals.
