Prime Minister Narendra Modi made some key comments on Andhra Pradesh‘s bifurcation today. He has spoken at length in the vote of thanks to the President’s speech, Modi said that Andhra Pradesh’s bifurcation was done in an unruly manner.

“We are not against the bifurcation. BJP has bifurcated three states and they were done rather in a peaceful manner. BJP discussed the bifurcation of those states with the politicians in power and opposition. However, the same is not the case with Andhra Pradesh bifurcation. It was done behind closed doors and blocking out the live telecast,” said Modi in his speech.

“Despite the bifurcation, Congress didn’t come into power,” he added. The bifurcation created differences between the two states’ people. He termed Congress’ act as arrogance. “If bifurcated in a healthy manner, both the states would have been benefited but this is not the case now,” he concluded.
