Kadapa Police booked a case against Sheikh Dastagiri, accused turned approver in YS Viveka’s murder case for illegally detaining a minor boy and assaulting him. Reportedly, the boy’s mother Kullayamma alleged that Dastagiri detained her son for not paying the interest on the debt they took a few weeks back.
As they failed to repay the interest, she alleged that Dastagiri illegally detained her son and even tortured him. Acting on the complaint, Police rescued the boy from his residence in Jayamma Colony in Kadapa district’s Pulivendula town. Dastagiri denied the allegations made against him after he was called to the Police Station. The boy was sent to Government Hospital in Pulivendula.
Dastagiri worked as a driver for YS Vivekananda Reddy. He was one of the accused arrested by CBI. But later, he turned approver in the case. It is known that Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy and his father Bhaskar Reddy were also listed accused in this murder case.
