Kadapa has always been a fort to the YSR Congress party. The Reddy and Muslim voter turnout is the majority in this district and they have been loyal supporters of YS Rajasekhar Reddy and their loyalty transferred to YS Jagan after he took charge.
In the 2014 elections, despite forming the government, the Telugu Desam Party only won 1 constituency out of the 10, while in 2019, the YSR Congress did a clean sweep. Now, despite the anti-incumbency, once again YSR Congress is looking to dominate this district. However, TDP might win one or two in this constituency if they concentrate more.
Recent surveys indicate that the Telugu Desam Party is getting better in Rayalaseema. Sugavasi Subrahmanyam in Rajampet and Putha Chaithanya Reddy in Kamalapuram have been looking solid and they need to hold their horses till the last minute.
On the other hand, the Kadapa Parliament seat has turned interesting with YS Sharmila having decided to take on his cousin YS Avinash Reddy. Can TDP fancy their chances amid the clash of the Titans?
