The mysterious death of Pastor Praveen Pagadala, a prominent Christian preacher, has raised serious concerns in Andhra Pradesh. His body was discovered on March 25, 2025, by the roadside near Kondamuru, close to Rajahmundry, in the East Godavari district. Initially, his death was thought to be the result of a road accident. However, upon further investigation, several irregularities have led his family and followers to suspect foul play.
Pastor Praveen, based in Hyderabad, had no scheduled events in Rajahmundry but was seen riding his motorcycle late at night. CCTV footage from a toll gate in Kovvur shows him riding his bike before his death. Despite appearing to be an accident at first glance, close inspection revealed that his helmet was intact, and there were no visible signs of a crash, leading his followers to believe that he may have been murdered.
Local Christian groups, along with Praveen’s family, have demanded a thorough investigation. They pointed out that the pastor had faced threats in the past, and some suspect that his death could be connected to these previous tensions. They also noted severe injuries on his face that appeared to have been caused by a blunt object.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident, with police teams analyzing CCTV footage and other evidence. The Superintendent of Police for East Godavari, D. Narasimha Kishore, has assured the public that a detailed investigation is underway. Meanwhile, Pastor Praveen’s followers continue to call for justice, with many gathering at Rajahmundry Government Hospital to protest.
