Andhra Pradesh police have arrested nine individuals in connection with the theft of 900 engines from the Kia Motors plant in Sri Sathya Sai district. The large-scale theft came to light during an internal audit last month, prompting the company to file a police complaint on March 19.
Police revealed that the stolen engines were smuggled and sold across multiple states, suggesting the existence of a wider illegal network. The accused have been remanded to 14 days of judicial custody, and officials say only 10% of the investigation has been completed so far.
