Former Rajya Sabha MP Ananda Bhaskar Rapolu has resigned from the primary membership of the Bharatiya Janatha Party. He submitted the resignation letter to BJP National President JP Nadda stating that the party has shown stepmotherly treatment towards Telangana in recent years.

Ananda Bhaskar Rapolu in his letter stated that he was ignored, humiliated, underrated, and excluded in the national roles in the last four years. The former Rajya Sabha MP joined BJP in the year 2019 after he quit Congress.

He further added in the letter he has several grievances to highlight the “disinterested nature” of the party. He stated that BJP’s stance to describe welfare schemes as freebies has shaken him to the core. Ananda Bhaskar Rapolu in his letter has also criticized the Union Government for its handling of the Coronavirus pandemic and its impact on the Indian economy.
