Preeti Sudan appointed as new chairperson of UPSC

New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) appointed IAS officer Preeti Sudan as its new chairperson on July 31.

Preeti Sudan, a 1983 batch IAS officer from the Karnataka cadre, will take charge on August 1 and serve until April 2025. She previously served as the Union Food Secretary.

Preeti Sudan becomes the second woman to lead UPSC, following RM Bathew, who was chairperson in 1996.
