Surat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a grand roadshow in Surat on March 7 as part of his visit to Gujarat, drawing thousands who showered him with flower petals. Addressing the crowd, Modi praised Surat for providing employment to millions and playing a crucial role in India’s economic growth.
During the event, PM Modi launched the Surat Food Security Saturation Campaign and distributed benefits to two lakh beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY). He emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring food and nutrition security for all, making Surat an inspiration for other districts.
“Surat is a city of entrepreneurs, where ‘Kaam aur Daam’ (work and value) define its essence,” Modi said, highlighting the city’s role in strengthening MSMEs and the local supply chain. He also underscored the Har Ghar Jal Abhiyan, which has significantly reduced illnesses by providing access to clean water, alongside the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, which has improved rural health.
