Navy Day commemorates the Indian Navy’s pivotal role in the 1971 War, particularly the success of Operation Trident, which dealt a decisive blow to Pakistan’s naval base in Karachi. This year’s theme, “Strength and Power through Innovation and Indigenisation,” highlights the Indian Navy’s commitment to advanced technology and self-reliance.

At the central celebration held in Puri, Odisha, chief guest President Draupadi Murmu witnessed a grand display of naval prowess. Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi oversaw the event, which featured over 15 warships, submarines, 40 aircraft, and elite demonstrations by MARCOS commandos.

Traditional ceremonies, including the Beating the Retreat, were complemented by a stunning drone and laser show, showcasing the Navy’s blend of tradition and modernity.
