India has reportedly got 2,151 COVID cases in the last 24 hours. This is the highest recorded number in the last five months i.e., since October 2022. The active cases in the country have increased to 11,903. The Health Ministry has released further stats. With 7 deaths in the last 24 hours, the total death toll got increased to 5,30,848. Out of these seven, three came from Maharashtra and Kerala each, and another one from Karnataka.
The daily positivity rate has been recorded at 1.51 percent and the weekly positivity rate at 1.53 percent. The total count of fresh cases stands at 4,47,09,676. The ministry stated that the active cases comprise 0.03 percent of the total number of infections. The national recovery rate was at 98.78 percent currently.
With the rise in the COVID cases, health experts are suggesting to wear a mask in crowded places.
