India has reported a record total of 10,158 COVID-positive cases. This is the highest number in the seven months. While the daily positive rate reached 4.42 percent, the active COVID cases have logged in to 44,998. However, the experts strike off any new wave but term it as an endemic cycle.

The experts further predicted that the cases will keep rising for the next 10-12 days. The reason not to panic is that the cases of hospitalization despite the increase in the COVID positive cases is low. It is said that the current rise in COVID cases is due to the new sub-variant of Omicron, named XBB.1.16.

The Union Health Ministry has updated the data regarding the COVID positive cases. The central and the state governments have reviewed their preparedness if in case the situation gets tense.
