Congress’s Presidential election is turning interesting. Congress senior leader Digvijay Singh today announced that he is going to quit the race as Mallikarjun Kharge has decided to be a contender.
Digvijay Singh told the same to the media as well. He said, “I am not contesting. I always am a supporter of the Congress party. I will be a proposer of Mallikarjun Kharge.”
Digvijay Singh told the media, “I met Mallikarjun yesterday and asked him if he is interested in Presidential candidate I will be quitting but Kharge told that he is not interested. Today, I came to know that he is a contender, and immediately I said to him that if he is contesting, I won’t.”
With Digvijay Singh pulling out of the election, now the presidential race is between Shashi Tharoor and Mallikarjun Kharge.
Congress party is supporting Kharge and Tharoor’s participation becomes nominal.
