Centre allocates Rs 1,750 crore for Andhra Pradesh's backward districts

New Delhi: The Central government has disbursed Rs 1,750 crore under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act (APRA) for the development of seven backward districts, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary informed the Lok Sabha on July 29.

Centre allocates Rs 1,750 crore for Andhra Pradesh’s backward districts

Pankaj Chaudhary noted that the state government has submitted fund utilization certificates for only Rs 1,049.34 crore. Utilization certificates are required for obtaining further central funds.

Niti Aayog’s December 2015 report recommended a total of Rs 2,100 crore for these districts, allocating Rs 300 crore per district.
