New Delhi: Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu affirmed the Central Government’s commitment to the development of Andhra Pradesh. Speaking at a media conference in Delhi on August 28, he announced that the Center has approved industrial smart cities for Orvakal and Kopparthy. He also mentioned the development of the Hyderabad-Bangalore and Visakhapatnam-Chennai corridors.

In Kadapa’s Kopparthy, an industrial hub will be developed over 2,596 acres, with the Center allocating Rs 2,137 crore. This hub is expected to provide jobs for 54,500 people. Similarly, in Kurnool’s Orvakal, a 2,621-acre industrial corridor will be established with an investment of Rs 2,786 crore, creating around 45,000 jobs.
Ram Mohan Naidu also shared that the Center is likely to approve Rs 12,000 crore for the Polavaram Project, with funds to be released before work resumes in November. He highlighted that Andhra Pradesh has lagged in several sectors over the last five years and highlighted the need for double-engine growth.
