Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today presented the last full-fledged budget of the second-term government led by Narendra Modi before the 2024 general elections. Nirmala Sitharaman made it clear which goods will be getting cheaper and which will be becoming costlier.

What’s Costlier:

Articles made from gold bars
Cigarettes
Imitation Jewellery
Silver
Electric kitchen chimney
Imported bicycles and toys
Electronic vehicle imports

What’s Cheaper:

Parts for mobile phones
Parts for TV panels
Machinery for lithium-ion batteries
Raw materials for the EV industry

Nirmala Sitharaman announced that the customs duty on camera lenses will be removed for a year. The customs tax on TV parts will be reduced to 2.5 percent from 5 percent. Lithium Ion Battery customs tax has also been reduced. The import charges on the silver have been hiked.
