James Cameron‘s directorial Avatar: The Way of Water has created an all-time record for a Hollywood film in the Telugu States. The movie collected more than Rs 13.5 crore gross on its first day from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. While Telangana’s contribution is Rs. 7.5 Crore, Andhra Pradesh’s stands at Rs. 6 Crore.
To indicate the magnanimity of the opening, Spider-Man: No Way Home is the previous highest for a Hollywood film and it collected Rs. 5.5 Crore gross which is less than half the amount that Avatar collected. Avatar’s collections stand at par with many medium-budget Telugu flicks.
Avatar 2 has received decent reviews. It has once again shown that Telugu audiences will receive any kind of movie if they were entertained.
