Telugu cinema is set to close 2024 on a high note with the release of Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna’s Pushpa 2: The Rule, the much-awaited sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise. The original film catapulted Allu Arjun to new heights, earning him the National Award for Best Actor.

The sequel hits theaters worldwide tomorrow, and expectations are sky-high. In India, Pushpa 2 has already raked in nearly Rs 79 crore from day-one ticket sales, with the figure expected to cross Rs 100 crore by the end of the day. The US market, a growing hub for Telugu cinema, is also buzzing with excitement. With over 80,000 tickets sold for nearly 4,000 shows, the film has grossed $2.2 million (Rs 19.32 crore) in premiere-day sales and is poised to surpass $3 million, solidifying its position as one of the year’s top openers.
While Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD holds the record for the biggest North American premiere of 2024 at $3.9 million, industry watchers are eager to see if Pushpa 2 can beat that.
Directed by Sukumar and featuring an ensemble cast including Fahadh Faasil, Jagapathi Babu, and Prakash Raj, Pushpa 2 promises a spectacular cinematic experience.
