Director Shankar’s ‘Indian 2,’ starring Kamal Haasan, has made a remarkable debut in the box office. The film, which was released on July 12 as a sequel, garnered substantial opening collections, crossing crores. Ulaga Nayagan Shankar’s combo has always been a hit with fans, and this craze has translated into a significant buzz around the film.
According to trade reports, ‘Indian 2′ grossed 26.1 crores net on its first day alone in India, with 16 crores in Tamil Nadu and 8 crores in Telugu states. However, the Hindi version reportedly saw lower collections.
Despite this, the film has generated substantial buzz in Bollywood, reflecting the makers’ efforts to expand their reach beyond the south Indian market.
