Today, the news that RRR’s Naatu Naatu got shortlisted for the Academy Awards made headlines. Naatu Naatu is one of the songs nominated along with the 14 other songs. It is a proud moment for a Telugu film. However, it is disappointing to see RRR lose a golden chance. The film didn’t get shortlisted in the visual effects, original score category.
Many Hollywood technicians raved about the VFX used in the RRR. Also, if India sent RRR as the official entry for the Best International Feature category then the chances might be bright but now the film has no option but to go for the Best Feature where it had to compete with big players like Top Gun, Avatar 2, and others.
Looking at the massive Hollywood flicks, the chances look bleak. The voting will take place from January 12th to January 17th, 2023. We have to wait and see.
