Ending the year on a high, Avatar is the third biggest hit of the world behind Top Gun: Maverick and Jurassic World Dominion. Today it successfully surpassed Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of the Madness.
Avatar: The Way of Water had an underperforming first weekend. However, this James Cameron visual wonder had enough legs to perform better on the second weekend. Avatar was released on December 16th.
Avatar had a massive blow in the United States market due to the weather conditions in US and Canada. The snowstorm prevented many moviegoers to visit the theaters. However, the rest of the world’s performance makes up for it. We have to wait and see where this second installment of the Avatar will reach as per the global BO performance.
