Hollywood actor Robbie Coltrane is no more. He is aged 72. Robbie is known for his portrayal of Hagrid in the blockbuster movie series Harry Potter. He breathed his last in Scotland last night.
Robbie got popular in the industry with his portrayal of a serious detective in the series Cracker. He won Best Actor at British Academy Television Awards for his portrayal of the role. However, it was his Hagrid role that made him popular across the globe. He played Rubeus Hagrid, Gamekeeper and Keeper of Keys and Grounds at the Hogwarts™ School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Harry Potter novel’s author JK Rowling tweeted, “I’ll never know anyone remotely like Robbie again. He was an incredible talent, a complete one-off, and I was beyond fortunate to know him, work with him and laugh my head off with him. I send my love and deepest condolences to his family, above all his children.”
However, the cause of his death is not known at the moment.
