Kovvur: Renowned Telugu director and writer Vamsi shares a deep bond with the Godavari River, with many of his films set on its banks. Known for his fondness for the ‘cinema tree’ in Kumaradevam, Vamsi has a tradition of featuring at least one song from his movies filmed there.
Upon hearing that the iconic tree had fallen, Vamsi visited the site on August 8. He walked around the tree, reflecting emotionally, and later captured the moment on his cell phone.

Vamsi engaged with local Rotary Club members and residents who are working to revive the tree.
Vamsi revealed that his novel ‘Gokulamlo Radha’ was inspired by this very tree and the surrounding area. He expressed his desire for the tree’s restoration, stating he would be the first to celebrate its revival. He plans to create a film featuring the tree once it regrows.
