Hyderabad: Former Australian cricketer David Warner is set to make his Telugu film debut with a cameo in ‘Robinhood’, starring Nithiin and Sreeleela. Warner shared the movie poster on social media, announcing its release on March 28, 2025.
Warner’s Love for Telugu Cinema
Warner has been a long-time admirer of Telugu films, often recreating viral reels on Telugu songs. His connection with Hyderabad runs deep, having played for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL, even leading them to victory in 2016.
Warner on England’s Bazball & Ashes Predictions
Meanwhile, Warner also weighed in on the upcoming Ashes series, calling Australia the favorites for the home series against England later this year. Speaking to Wisden, he expressed skepticism about England’s ‘Bazball’ approach, saying it might not be suitable for Australian conditions.
“Australia has a world-class bowling attack with over 1,400 Test wickets among Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Nathan Lyon. That’s the biggest challenge for England,” Warner stated.
He further added, “Bazball in Australia’s bouncy pitches would be a high-risk strategy. If England sticks to it, we might get a few extra days off at the backend.”
