Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam ushered in the New Year with vibrant celebrations, as festivities peaked well before midnight. The city was alive with dance parties, luxurious dinners, and dazzling fireworks displays that lit up the night sky. RK Beach and Rushikonda Beach were the focal points, hosting beachfront parties, live music, and stunning pyrotechnic shows.
Highlight events included a live performance by singer SreeRama Chandra at Vishwanadh Sports Club and an ‘Unlimited Party’ at Gadiraju Palace, offering an extensive buffet and entertainment. Rangoli designs adorned streets, while popular viewpoints turned into hotspots for photography enthusiasts capturing the city’s festive glow. Many residents also visited temples to offer prayers, blending spiritual observance with celebration.
Local businesses thrived, with a notable surge in sales. A cake shop near the city center reported receiving hundreds of orders, primarily for New Year festivities. “Managing the unexpected demand with limited staff was challenging but rewarding,” shared the shop owner.
While the city’s spirit remained high, traffic restrictions and roadblocks implemented to manage crowds caused some inconvenience. Despite heavy traffic, the police ensured safety by maintaining strict checks on drunk driving.
As the clock struck midnight, the sky burst into a kaleidoscope of colors, marking Visakhapatnam’s grand welcome to 2025.
