Visakhapatnam: In a bid to foster safety awareness and preparedness, the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Visakhapatnam, in collaboration with Government Polytechnic College, organized a series of interactive events on National Safety Day 2025. The event featured live fire safety demonstrations, CPR training, and student competitions aimed at instilling a culture of safety among students and the wider community.

Live Demonstrations & Safety Training
Experts from the National Institute of Fire and Safety (NISF) conducted hands-on training in:
- Fire Safety Procedures – Educating attendees on fire extinguishers and evacuation strategies.
- CPR Techniques – Providing life-saving skills essential for emergency response.
These practical sessions empowered students with real-world safety skills to handle emergencies with confidence.
Competitions & Student Engagement
To further reinforce safety consciousness, the event hosted competitions, including:
- Essay Writing Contest – ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ – Focusing on environmental conservation and safety.
- Elocution Competition – Encouraging students to voice their insights on safety and sustainability.
Over 300 polytechnic students participated, showcasing the youth’s commitment to promoting safety initiatives.

The event featured notable speakers, including:
- Rajinder Chaudhry, ADG, Andhra Pradesh Region, who emphasized the collective role in ensuring safety.
- GPR Krishna, GM, NISF, who highlighted the need to integrate safety into daily routines.
