Time and again the audience is giving their verdict that they are not open to regular commercial potboilers. They are not in a mood to watch lacklustre content on the big screen spending huge bucks while they can watch better content on the OTT platforms. If and only if the content is better, the collections are there.
Last weekend, we saw three movies released. Nenu Meeku Baga Kavalsinavaadini, Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali, and Saakini Daakini hit the screens and all three films sank without any trace. While Saakini Daaniki wouldn’t even recover the digital expenses, the other two flicks might recover just the promotional expenses. Karthikeya 2, Brahmastra, and Oke Oka Jeevitham performed better than these three flicks.
This is another rude shock given by the audience. They are stating “give better content, expect returns.” Otherwise, it is outright rejection. This Friday another three films are making it to the box office.
