Gunasekhar after a long time is coming up with his most ambitious project Shaakunthalam. The project is based on Kalidas’s play Abhignana Shaakunthalam. The movie’s shooting got completed long back but the post-production works have taken a long time.
Shaakunthalam was first scheduled for November 4th release. However, the team has announced that the release has been postponed now. The team has decided to give the best viewer experience. So, Shaakunthalam is getting ready for a 3D release.
Samantha will be seen in a titular role in the movie. Dev Mohan is her pair. Mani Sharma composed music for the movie.
Ace producer Dil Raju is backing Shaakunthalam.
“We aim to give a bigger experience with Shaakuntalam and immerse you in the world of Shaakuntalam for which we as a team felt 3D would be a brilliant way. To facilitate this, we would be taking some time to put forth and so, will be unable to meet the earlier announced date of release. We will be announcing the new release date soon,” said the official statement from the team.
