Gunasekhar is known for himself as a visionary director. He knows to deal with the crafts in the best possible way. His subjects are way ahead of their time. Gunasekhar after a long time has come up with the project titled Shaakunthalam.
The movie is a mythological take. It deals with the romantic tale of Shaakunthala and King Dushyantha, taken from Adi Parva of Mahabharatha.
The shooting of this film got completed long back. Shaakunthalam is expected to hit the screens this year. However, the VFX is taking more time than expected. Gunasekhar on the other hand doesn’t want to compromise on the quality. Dil Raju is the co-producer of the project and his backing means Gunasekhar needs not to worry regarding the finances.
Dev Patel will be seen in the lead role opposite Samantha who played the titular role. Mani Sharma is composing the music.
