Indian cricket star Virat Kohli has paid the highest tax of Rs 66 crores for the fiscal year 2023-24, according to a Fortune India report. This makes him the top taxpayer among athletes, with former cricketers MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, and Sourav Ganguly following with Rs 38 crores, Rs 28 crores, and Rs 23 crores respectively. All-rounder Hardik Pandya paid Rs 13 crores in taxes.

Thalapathy Vijay, the actor, topped the list of celebrities with a tax payment of Rs 80 crores.
Virat Kohli’s net worth is estimated to exceed Rs 1,000 crores. As a leading cricketer, Kohli earns significantly from his BCCI contract, match fees, and IPL salary with RCB, amounting to Rs 15 crores annually. He also charges Rs 7.5 to Rs 10 crores per advertisement and earns substantial income through social media posts.
Virat Kohli will return to the field starting September 19 for the Test series against Bangladesh after being absent since August.
