Hyderabad: The USA team for the upcoming ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup has been announced, with Telugu-origin cricketer Kolan Anika Reddy named as captain. The tournament is scheduled to take place from January 18 to February 2, 2025, across four venues in Malaysia.
The 15-member USA squad includes three other players of Telugu origin: Padigyaala Chetana Reddy, Immadi Shanvi, and Nasha Vallabhaneni.
Anika Reddy, the team captain, hails from Nagaram Municipality in the Medchal-Malkajgiri district of Telangana, India. She is the daughter of Kolan Manjula and Suresh Reddy, who settled in the USA 12 years ago. Manjula is a doctor, while Suresh Reddy works in the software industry.

Shanvi’s father, Ramesh, currently works as a consultant for Cisco Systems. These young talents are set to represent the USA on a global stage, carrying the pride of their heritage.
The mega event will feature 16 teams divided into four groups. Group A includes India, West Indies, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia. Group B features USA, England, Pakistan, and Ireland. Group C comprises South Africa, New Zealand, Samoa, and Nigeria, while Group D includes Bangladesh, Nepal, Scotland, and Australia.
The tournament promises exciting cricket as rising stars showcase their skills.
