BCCI sources have revealed that Shikhar Dhawan might lead India in the upcoming South Africa series. Dhawan was supposed to lead the side for the Zimbabwe series but fit KL Rahul took the charge. Now, with T20 world cup bound players likely to be rested for the ODI series, Dhawan might be leading the side, revealed the sources. It is said that the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be rested for the three-match one-day series.
India and South Africa will be playing three T20Is and three ODIs between September 28th and October 11th. The three T20Is will happen on Sept 28th, October 2nd, and October 4th in Thiruvananthapuram, Guwahati, and Indore while the ODIs will start on October 6th at Lucknow. The other two ODIs will be played at Ranchi and Delhi on the 9th and 11th respectively.
