Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has been making headlines with his aggressive performances in Test cricket. After being sidelined for months due to injuries from a car accident, Pant’s return to the field has been remarkable.
In the first Test against New Zealand, Rishabh Pant scored 20 runs in the first innings and narrowly missed a century in the second, scoring an impressive 99 runs. This innings propelled Pant ahead of Virat Kohli in the latest ICC Test Rankings. Rishabh Pant jumped three places to secure the 6th spot, while Virat Kohli dropped one spot to 8th.

Other Indian players also saw movements in the rankings. Yashasvi Jaiswal maintained his 4th position, while Rohit Sharma slipped two places to share the 15th spot with Sri Lanka’s Dimuth Karunaratne. Shubman Gill dropped four places to 19th.
New Zealand’s rising star, Rachin Ravindra, who scored a century in Bengaluru, made a massive leap of 36 places to claim the 18th spot. Devon Conway, who scored 91 in the first innings, improved by 12 places to reach 36th.
New Zealand’s pacer Matt Henry, who took eight wickets in the match, rose two places to 9th, his best career ranking. Joe Root leads the batting rankings, while India’s Jasprit Bumrah tops the bowling charts.
