Punjab Kings have three England players this season and they have some bittersweet news. Their opener Bairstow will not be taking part in the Indian Premier League. The reports are that the ECB has decided not to give NOC to Bairstow as he had a long injury layoff.
Bairstow underwent surgery on a broken leg and dislocated ankle in October. He is expected to be up and running in a couple of weeks’ time but ECB decided not to rush him off. Bairstow hasn’t played any competitive cricket since August.
On the other hand, another key player Liam Livingstone will be available for the entire season along with their most expensive buy Sam Curran. The latter was bought by PBKS for a whopping Rs. 18.50 Crores. All other England players barring Will Jacks, who was ruled out of the IPL with an injury, will be participating in the IPL.
