Hyderabad: India’s ace badminton champion and Olympic medallist PV Sindhu is set to begin a new chapter in her life as she marries software engineer Venkata Datta Sai on December 22. The wedding will take place in Udaipur, followed by a grand reception in Hyderabad on December 24.
Sindhu’s father, PV Ramana, confirmed that the families have known each other for some time, but the match was finalized only last month. “This was the only feasible window due to Sindhu’s busy schedule, which will pick up in January,” he said.

Venkata Datta Sai, the executive director of Posidex Technologies, holds a master’s degree in data science and machine learning from IIIT Bengaluru. His father, GT Venkateshwar Rao, serves as the managing director of the Hyderabad-based AI-ML company.
PV Sindhu and Venkata Datta Sai have reportedly been in a relationship for over a year and have been spotted together at various events. Despite her wedding plans, PV Sindhu remains committed to her badminton career, eyeing a strong performance in the upcoming seasons and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
PV Sindhu, 29, holds a remarkable legacy, including two Olympic medals and a World Championship title, cementing her place in Indian sports history.
