Gwalior: After winning the Test series against Bangladesh, Team India is now focusing on the upcoming three-match T20 series, with the first game scheduled on October 6 in Gwalior.
India will be led by Suryakumar Yadav, and interestingly, only one specialist opener has been selected. Sanju Samson is likely to open the innings alongside him, as he takes up the role of wicketkeeper-batsman following Rishabh Pant’s rest and Ishan Kishan’s absence.
On the other hand, debutant Mayank Yadav, who recently cleared his fitness test, is expected to play his first international match.
Bangladesh will be without star player Shakib Al Hasan, as he has retired from T20s and Tests.
Gwalior is hosting its first international match in 14 years, with the last being Sachin Tendulkar’s historic double century against South Africa in 2010.
