Adelaide: The fierce rivalry between India and Australia resumes as the second Test of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy kicks off at the Adelaide Oval on December 6. This day-night encounter will feature the pink ball, a format where Australia has dominated with 11 wins in 12 matches, their only loss coming against the West Indies. India, in contrast, has played four pink-ball Tests, losing one—at this very venue against Australia in December 2020.
Adelaide Oval has been a fortress for the hosts in day-night Tests, with Australia winning all seven games played here, including the inaugural pink-ball Test against New Zealand in 2015. Indian fans will be hoping their side can overcome the ghosts of their last pink-ball outing at this venue.

Australia’s David Warner leads the list of highest run-getters in pink-ball Tests at Adelaide with 647 runs, followed by Marnus Labuschagne, who is just 85 runs shy of surpassing him. Steve Smith, Usman Khawaja, and Travis Head round out the top five.
On the bowling front, Mitchell Starc reigns supreme with 39 wickets, while Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon have 28 each. The stage is set for an exciting contest as both teams look to gain an edge in the series.
