Team India openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill create history after New Zealand asked them to bat. They created a double-hundred partnership in just 25 overs giving the perfect start to the team. Overall, their partnership is worth 212 runs in 26 overs. Both the openers completed their centuries.

This is Rohit Sharma’s first century after 2020 and it came in just 84 balls. This is his 30th century in a total of 234 innings. He equaled Ricky Ponting’s 30 ODI centuries which took 130 innings extra. Now, Rohit Sharma is the third-highest century scorer in ODI cricket behind Sachin Tendulkar (49) and Virat Kohli (46).

Rohit Sharma also stands third in the highest sixes in ODI cricket. He is behind Afridi and Gayle, Rohit scored 273 sixes in just 234 innings. Shubman Gill had a fantastic series. He scored 360 runs in this three-match series equalling the record set by Babar Azam. Currently, India is looking to post a hefty total on a batting-friendly pitch.
