India has the upper hand after the Day 1 of the second test. Batting first, Bangladesh hasn’t gotten the positive start it expected. Though Bangladesh’s opener Zakir was dropped early in the innings, he couldn’t do much. Shanto too fell after getting a start. Mominul who lost form recently looked solid in his defense and scoring.

He scored a brilliant half-century and held one end. Mushfiqur and Litton Das looked solid while batting and enterprised with some strokes. However, their stays were limited by some disciplined bowling by the Indians.

Jaydev Unadkat who is playing a test after 12 long years has picked up two wickets. Umesh Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin proved their seniority and picked 4 wickets each. As a result, Bangladesh was bundled out for a total of 227. At one stage, Bangladesh was 213/5.

In reply, India had a nervy start as KL Rahul escaped a few close calls. Rahul and Shubman Gill made sure no damage was done eventually. India was 19/0 by the end of the day.
