In a low-scoring match, India held its nerve by winning the match by five wickets. Winning the toss, Hardik Pandya elected to bowl first. India picked four quicks and two spinners in the playing XI. While Head fell early, Mitchell Marsh, coming back after an injury has scored at will. He scored a well-made 81 in just 65 balls. At one stage, Australia was flying high at 129/2 but once he fell, Australia collapsed like a pack of cards.
Shami was brilliant in his second spell and so is Siraj. Overall, Australia got bundled out for just 188 runs. Chasing a modest total, India fell into trouble very early. India was thrown to a corner with four wickets and fell by just 39 runs. Later, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya stitched a crucial partnership but Pandya threw away the start after scoring 25 runs.
Later, Rahul got a good companion in the form of Jadeja and the total was chased in 40 overs.
