It all happened pretty quickly for Australia. After striving hard to pick up the last three wickets, Australia started their second innings with a trail of 223 runs which was very hard considering the conditions. The pitch is favoring spinners but it is not unplayable. A few hours back, India has shown how to bat on this wicket.
In the second innings, Ravichandran Ashwin picked up five wickets inside 10 overs to make Australia face a major defeat. If not for Steven Smith, the match would’ve been closed a long back. This is Ashwin’s 31st five-wicket haul. Jadeja sees him in the wickets column with a couple of wickets. Axar Patel picked up his sole wicket for the match.
Mohammed Shami came out and cleaned up the tail with his reverse swing. Overall, Australia got bowled out for just 91, their second lowest against India handing innings and 132 runs victory.
