Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed officials to expedite the drafting process for the ‘Young India Sports University’ Bill and finalize the state’s sports policy by the end of November. Emphasizing a goal of setting the highest national standards, the CM instructed officials to conduct extensive research and consult with sports experts and athletes to make Telangana’s policy a model for the nation.

During a review meeting at his residence in Jubilee Hills, CM Revanth Reddy discussed initiatives including the ‘Young India Physical Education and Sports University,’ the ‘Young India Sports Academy,’ and the ‘Sports Authority of Telangana.’ He recommended updates to existing sports infrastructure and modernization of stadiums and sports complexes.

Drawing on his visit to South Korea’s National Sports University, CM Revanth Reddy highlighted best practices for Telangana’s policy, including elements discussed recently by ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Ponnam Prabhakar with South Korean sports officials. He also recommended studying approaches from Queensland University in Australia, a leader in sports education.

Revanth Reddy instructed officials to finalize the governing body for the new sports policy within ten days and to create a calendar for state, national, and international competitions. Additionally, Telangana will seek to host the National Games in collaboration with the Indian Olympic Association within the next two years.
